Web Site Crash!
Over the last few days I have been working with my web hosting technical support to repair a problem with my web site. It has been a most frustrating experience. During the restoration process, all of my images posted in my blog pages were disconnected from the posts. I will re-post the black and white image which was the most recent one. However, if there is anything from the archives that you specifically want to see, please contact me and I’ll make it available for you.
Thanks,
Jim
Adventure into black and white images
Topaz Labs has recently released Topaz Black & White. I have a plug-in that does some conversion to black and white, but I didn’t have a software package dedicated to just black and white conversion. Now I do. I found it pretty straight forward and easy to use. The software provides different styles and presets within styles. As with all Topaz plug-ins, I recommend creating a duplicate layer in Photoshop and then apply Topaz. That way, you can adjust the opacity of the applied effect.
The image below was one of the last ones I took from the ship on our Alaska Inside Passage cruise as we were exiting Endicott Fjord and back into the inside passage. I applied an opalized style to the image to get the vignette / fog look.
